Solilaquists of Sound
The 2009 release No More Heroes by hip hop ensemble Solilaquists of Sound is a diverse musical affair - indeed, they describe themselves as fusing "hip hop, dubstep, prog-rock, afrobeat, folk music, and epic movie scores." All right then! I was actually reminded of UNKLE - not in the sense that they sound particularly similar to UNKLE, but in terms of how successfully they integrate a range of influences into a single signature. Rappers/vocalists Swamburger and Alexandrah have found a nice home in this act after working with an older favorite of mine, the All Good Funk Alliance.
