The Dragons
Why is Ninja Tune suddenly releasing psychedelic rock albums? I don't know, but the 2007 release BFI by The Dragons is so retro or neo or whatever, it's uncanny. I don't think of myself as a psych rock kind of person, and there's nothing fancy here to connect this release to the rest of the Ninja Tune catalogue in some fashion; still, it's got charm by way of how much it veers away from any semblance of sounding modern.

The story on the ninja tune site is that the record was made in the 60's but never got any interest. 37 Years later DJ Food buys a rare vinyl from a surf movie that has "Food for my Soul" on it. He loves it and tracks down one of the original members to ask if he can use it in his next album. He is told yes sure they have a whole album album somewhere. They track down the master tapes and post to DJ Food who is blown away and passes it on to Ninja tune. Nice story :)Similar story to black devil disco club.
