Michael Fakesch
So a funny thing happened... I went on vacation to NYC last weekend. Normally when I leave town for a few days, I queue up a bunch of posts before I go, but this time, I completely forgot. Hence, no music until today, d'oh! I could tell by the distant sounds of wailing and gnashing of teeth that this really bothered you all, so I'd like to make up for it by, uh, doing nothing special and pretending this is an ordinary Wednesday.
Electronic funk today from Funkstörung member Michael Fakesch, on his new release Dos. Both the vocals and the overall funk vibe are drawing fairly inevitable Prince comparisons, but the electronics here push this in a somewhat colder direction; I was taking a risk picking this up due to the fact that I find the majority of Funkstörung's output to be overly grating, but I can always use a little electronic funk, and sure enough, this worked out just fine.

Eh, I don't think I've posted before but I lurk, waiting for you to mention a new band that I have to go out and hunt down to expand my collection. n_n
