Infadels
Got to spend some quality time at Amoeba Records in San Francisco recently, and one of my happy finds in the used bin was the outstanding 2004 release We Are Not The Infadels, by a group who nevertheless call themselves Infadels. Perhaps the distinction is that they are Infadels, not The Infadels; perhaps they are just weird, I don't really know. I've had "Can't Get Enough" in my DJ set for months now, and after finally hearing the rest of the album, I'm pleased to find it's a gem from start to finish.
Infadels - Can't Get Enough
Infadels - Murder That Sound
Infadels - Sunday
Recently on Comfort Radio:
Rasputina - Trust All-Stars
The Postal Service - We Will Become Silhouettes
My Scarlet Life - Don't Look Back

yeah if you listen to comfort radio long enough, i've got all that stuff in rotation - my scarlet life, scarlet life, big hat, pointy teeth, karma sutra - basically all the preston klik projects from back when i lived in chicago and a little after. i used to see my scarlet life all the time; they were definitely a great live band. not sure their albums ever captured the energy of the shows, but that's true of a lot of bands. i used to be an acquaintance of preston's and got to visit his studio a few times when my scarlet life were making records; good times...

What are you mental? That album is still in the making isn't it? It's one of 2006 most anticipated releases! They just recently announced it to be released.
The single "Jagger 67" and "Can't Get Enough" have been out there for a while now though and still kick ass.

yes, i am certainly mental; however, the distinction is that the album has been available overseas for a while now. the anticipation is for the 2006 *domestic* release.
