Of Montreal
Comfort pal Laura dropped off some goodies recently - and that means YOU, loyal reader, will be seeing a few of her recent selections popping up on Comfort Music throughout the next few weeks. Today brings us the latest effort by Of Montreal, a lovely album called The Sunlandic Twins, which she describes thusly:
"Think production, in a good way, but on the glossy side. Good lyrics, well sung (some harmonies, solo, etc.), backed by interesting arrangements. A little psychedelic-electronic rockish is how I'd describe it. I thought of David Byrne/Talking Heads (sound & lyrics), Beatles (sound & lyrics), Paul Simon (production), not that it's exactly like it, just made me think of those folks. Paul Simon, what was I thinking... no it's more like Queen, yeah that's more it." [Note from Scotto: there is, in fact, a hint of Paul Simon in there. Also, get yourself a big fat pile o' Of Montreal freebies here.]
