Friday grab bag
What's that, you say? You're looking for a sweeping masterpiece of abstract IDM? Look no further, as this tract from ambient virtuoso Carl Stone will attest. Props to Largehearted Boy for pointing this one out to me... I've been a fan of Stone since his beautiful release on em:t years ago and this was a great find.
Carl Stone - Flints (Scan Mix)
Speaking of em:t, this quirky little ditty from an old em:t comp would probably be called electropop nowadays, but back in the dark ages of 1997, they stuck it on an ambient comp because, you know, what else were they supposed to do?
And finally, some really good techno popped up on Comfort Radio recently - nothing particularly surprising, and in fact, it's just this side of being BT-style cheesy, but instead, the track winds up being "merely" really good techno. "How do they do it??" From the 2004 album Aura.
The Alpha Conspiracy - Wishing Never
These and other fine, fine tracks can be heard on Comfort Radio - asking that musical question, "Do you really want to hurt me?????" See you next week.
