Deep, murky blah blah and densely orchestrated yadda yadda
I was going to just write something like "Hey this is pretty keen" but then I went to the Substractif label web site, which notes, "Polmo Polpo ... blends deep, murky techno with rich layers of feedback and densely orchestrated melodies. Heavily layered cello and lap steel guitar combine to create a world of shadowy songs drenched in echo and immersed in the throbbing pulse of 'dance music'." Which, as we all know, is marketing-speak for "Hey this is pretty keen". It's one of Coe's finds; I think she was tracking down any/everything that seemed related to A Silver Mt. Zion, but I could be misremembering the trail there. From the album Science of Breath.
Polmo Polpo - Acqua
Polmo Polpo - Rottura
Polmo Polpo - Riva
UPDATE: Bad links now fixed. Thanks Coe!

I can't find any way to contact you, so I figured this was the best place to do it.
There's this mp3 blog that doesn't have any links on it called 1.618. It doesn't have any links because it refuses to.
You can see it here: http://agentlebossanova.net/1618/
Each post on 1.618 features a song and an image to accompany the song, with the image being the only discernible form of criticism. No words will ever appear on 1.618 explaining how its selectors feel about it. Furthermore, there are no defined criteria governing the selection of songs, they are selected simply because they move us.
We want you to know about it because Comfort Music is an inspiration to us. This post of Polmo Polpo songs has had a huge impact on me. Rottura infected me first, then Riva, then I bought the CD, then I bought everything I could get my hands on by Sandro Perri, and I owe you for it.
Also, we want you to know about 1.618 right now because tomorrow (the 17th) kicks off a decimal week (10 straight days) of particularly exuberant music selected to celebrate a personal milestone for one of the founders and the beginning of summer. Here's a secret: one of the songs in the decimal week was first heard HERE on Comfort Music!
Anyway, we wanted you to know. Enjoy the decimal week.
love,
1.618
